Rainy day in Oman

Thursday brought torrential downpours in Muscat, so that nixed any outdoor exploring.  We had driven by the Children's Museum several times, and the building looked really cool from the outside, so we decided to take the kids there.
I thought this was pretty interesting, it's a representation of how your brain sees your body!  Basically where the most sensory nerves are, pretty cool!

Eric testing his balance - let's just say there were some competitions between the two of us later!
Madison conducting electricity to light the light bulb
Future engineer?!?!  She'll be the cutest none-the-less!
Kaiden testing the current in his hands

Wednesday we had stopped by the Royal Opera House, but we missed the tour, so we went back on Thursday to see the inside.
The Opera House was built on the royal orders of the Sultan and had the same designer as the Grand Mosque

Magnificent entrance with the grand staircase
Paula, check out this organ!
The opera house can seat 1100 people

When we returned to the parking garage we found the guys doing this!

More flooding, yes Mom, we did drive thru this rather large puddle!
After the rain everything is so beautiful.  Knocks all the dust/sand out of the air!
Given the rain that fell all day we didn't want to venture too far from our hotel once it got dark for fear of more flooded roads.  So what better place to go than the Grand Mall!!!  After all, what trip would be complete without a visit to the local mall!

We took the kids to Happy Land for a night of fun and they were happy, happy, happy!

We finished the evening with some fro-yo and called it a night!
