We remembered today, and always, those who lost their lives on that terrible day, September 11th, 2001. Fr. Tom gave a great homily today speaking about one gentleman who survived the attack and has chosen not to fall into that path of hatred that led to that horrendous event. It's so easy sometimes to want to be angry and hate back when people are mean to us instead of choosing the high road, and being the better person. I will never forget working out at the fitness center at Creighton and watching the attacks. At first I thought it was the Woodman building in downtown Omaha; wasn't really sure what was going on. Later that evening, Joy and I sat in our apartment, glued to the television. I remember my Dad calling and crying on the phone to him that I just wanted to come home. It's amazing how the events of a single day has shaped our future and changed our lives forever. On a lighter note...we had a great day outside playing and enjoyed an airshow in our own backyard! On the way home from church these A-10 Thunderbolts started flying around waiting for the National Anthem at the Chiefs stadium. They flew directly over our house about 7 times. It was AWESOME!The kids all sat outside and just listened and waited for them to come by againShe sure is pretty, and getting so big!Kaiden and his airplane, this kid LOVES planes!Ms. K, awful cute, and awful ornery!Waiting for the planes to circle aroundThe kids and I had walked up to the playground, but more planes started coming by, I'm assuming as part of the half-time show, so I called Eric to get the camera out again! We have definitely seen some interesting things living close to Whiteman AFB
