Welcome Fall!!! Eric and I had a lovely weekend get-away to Hermann with Christie and Skyler. It was just the break I needed from our hectic life, and some time to remind me that no matter how crazy our life gets, Eric and I love each other so very much and that is why we got married and started a family in the first place! We took off Friday and stopped and had lunch at the bistro at Les Bourgeois in
Rocheport. It was cold and rainy, but the view was simply breathtaking.

After lunch we continued our trip to Hermann and checked in at the
Wohlt House B&B.

The house was built in 1884, and the owner has refinished everything. We had a cute little room, with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, complete with a step to get up!

Only wish I'd had time to soak in the whirlpool tub....

This was the view over-looking the river from the deck. It was warm enough that we were able to sit outside after dinner and have some wine.

Some cute houses up on the hill

More fall leaves...I love this time of year!

We walked around town some while waiting for Christie and Skyler to arrive. I love Ricky's Chocolate Box, they have the best chocolates!

Saturday morning we had a delicious breakfast before heading out. Judy, the owner, was very hospitable.

Our first stop was the Adam
Puchta winery. We didn't make it here the last time we were in town, but we will definitely be going back. As you can see, we left with a case of wine!

More pretty fall scenery

Eric really wanted to go to the Swiss Meat and Cheese store. This was also our first time there and we pulled up to a parking lot full of hunters with dead deer to be processed. Not exactly exciting to me. They did have lots of delicious meats and cheeses to sample and we ended up buying some sausage. They also do taxidermy and had this little
raccoon in the entry way. He looked pretty cute with that
Butterfinger!

We ate lunch at Wings A
Blazin' before heading over to the Tin Mill Brewery. The boys sampled some beer before heading to the
Hermanhoff winery. We took a break after that to get ready for dinner.

On the hill overlooking Hermann.
Our last stop was Stone Hill Winery where we took a little tour and did some sampling before eating dinner.

Christie, Skyler, me, and Eric - the four of us had such a great time!

Being silly!
After dinner we headed back to relax and play some games...and have some more wine!

Christie and I couldn't pass up a picture with their bear skin rug! Too funny!!!

We were also laughing until we cried because we both ended up wearing the same shirt!

One more picture before we leave....outside on the bench next to our B&B

I love this man!!! This was on the front step of our house.
BIG THANKS to Larry and Paula for keeping the kids for us so we could steal away. I greatly appreciate it, and I know you will be returning them spoiled rotten!
