Road Trip to Wisconsin!!!

Last Saturday we set out on an adventure! ROAD TRIP!!!!! Wisconsin bound! We loaded the van up to the brim and set out bright and early (6AM) to hit the open road. Let's just say that the kids and Eric were A LOT more excited to be up that early than I was..... .....notice the half closed eyes as the flash went off! Meanwhile, Madison was her goofy self....
.....and Ka-da-boo was all smiles!!!
Keakers wasn't sure what to think?!?!
We had lots to keep ourselves busy with; when we weren't watching the sights fly by the window we were coloring, singing, or watching a DVD. The kids were excellent, and I couldn't have asked for better road trip buddies.
The windmills were quite an impressive sight. They went on for miles and miles. We made a stop in Des Moines for breakfast, and then again in Austin, MN for lunch and to celebrate Aunt Jeanne's birthday!
It had been quite some time since we had visited the Sheehan house. Madison fell in love with Colin's bird, Chief. He was presumed to be a male until he recently started laying eggs! Very bizzar!
Uncle Jimmie surprised Aunt Jeanne with an ice cream cake. Yummy!!!
After lunch we took turns riding in Uncle Jimmie's burnt orange corvette! It was so much fun!!!
I don't know who enjoyed it more, Kaiden or Eric. Kaiden thought it was just like Lightening McQueen!!! They were both in heaven.
Madie wasn't as impressed as the boys were. In fact, as we were rounding the block she asked, "Can we go home now so I can see the bird again!?" Too funny!!!
After a wonderful lunch and visit, and ample time to stretch our legs, we got back on the road to finish the final leg of our trip. We arrived at our cozy lodge later that evening. More pictures of our trip to come.......
