I can't believe I'm going to type this out loud, but I turned 30 yesterday! YIKES!!! Another decade down, which means the next one will be the even bigger...4-0! That's just crazy. It's safe to say that I don't feel 30, whatever 30 feels like! I definitely remember when I was in high school and thinking that 30 seemed so old, like you're life was over. On the contrary, I feel as though my life is just beginning. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being a Mom, and my love for Eric grows stronger with each passing day. Just when I think I couldn't possibly love him any more our marriage reaches a new level. I might be getting older, but I feel so tremendously blessed!
Saturday night we were lucky enough to secure a babysitter, Chip, to watch the kiddos so we could go to dinner and a movie. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous about leaving ALL of them with Chip by himself, but he did a fantastic job, as usual, stating that watching 3 kids was "a piece of cake". I'm just glad they were good so he will be willing to come back! Eric and I had dinner at Longhorn, and then saw Date Night. It was hilarious, especially if you are married with kids. We laughed even harder when we realized our "date night" would end before it was even 9:30PM. We're pretty crazy! Unfortunately, I woke up at 2AM with a horrible stomach ache, was sick all night, suspecting food poisoning, NOT another pregnancy! Let me just state that again, NO, I AM NOT PREGNANT!!!!
We'd already made plans for Mom, Dad,Chip, and Grandma to come over for dinner, and thankfully I got most of my appetite back that evening so we could do that. We grilled out shish-ka-bobs, pineapple, rice, stuffed mushrooms, and fruit salad. It was delish. I made sure to save room for my requested dessert.....
.....mocha mousse cheesecake that Mom made! She's really turning into quite the Betty Crocker with her new love of the Food Network! Thanks everyone for making my birthday special!
