Eric is taking the professional engineering exam (PE) on Friday in Columbia. He has been diligently studying for what seems like forever! This is a big step in his career and would mean that he now gets to seal/sign-off on his drawings for projects. I can't tell you enough how proud I am of him. Eric would stay up late to study after putting in a full days' work, or get up in the wee hours of the morning to study before going into work in order to minimize the time away from me and the kids. He has been much more dedicated than I could ever be, and has never once complained about his workload, study load, or lack of sleep during these past few months; and believe me, I know it hasn't been easy with two little ones and a pregnant wife vying for your attention! I will never forget one Saturday when I was upstairs making the kids breakfast and he was in the basement studying, and had been since 4AM, and Madison asks me, "where's Daddy?" I said, "he's downstairs studying". She replies, "Daddy's smart." I smiled and said, "yes, Daddy is smart" and I told him to remember those precious little words when he gets stuck on a problem, is frustrated, or has a massive headache from working all of those problems. As I type he is behind me trying to fit all of his manuals and books into a suitcase to take, and I am just thanking the good Lord that I get to shop and have lunch with my friend Keri while he takes an 8 hour test!
So, I am asking you to pray for Eric and his nerd friends on Friday as they take the test that will determine if they achieve professional nerd status and obtain the ever coveted golden pocket protector! I love you Eric, even if you are a nerd, you're the best husband/father I could ever ask for!!!

Bridget and Eric,
I am praying-I prayed this morning! God knows and He is in control! Praying He brings answers at just the right time. Praying for calmness of heart and for God to take away anxiety! and Bridget-your post is a great encouragement to me as a wife on how to be an encouragement to your husband-thanks for that!
This is the 3rd time I am trying to comment - the blogsite isn't accepting my password. Hopefully third time is a charm. Anyway - I have been aniously awaiting the carving contest. I am glad to know you aren't foregoing it b/c of the pumpkin shortage. Thinking of Eric with prayer for the test. Patrick is right behind him in the nerd test - he sits for the first part of the CPA on Wednesday. Great pictures of the pumpkin patch.
