29 and holding???

Well, as I'm sure most of you know, I turned the big 2-9 on Saturday. I honestly don't feel a day over 24! I woke up that morning and told Eric I better go for a jog because it's not going to be easy keeping the weight off at an older age! I had a wonderful weekend. Friday my co-workers took me out to lunch, and I made mint Oreo dessert for us to have as an afternoon treat. We spent the day moving our department to a different location in the hospital in order to abide by some new Medicare guidelines. It's kind of a long story, but this move is only temporary. We went from a beautiful suite on the 4th floor of the MOB to a tiny conference room in the basement under the stairs of the hospital. We're calling ourselves trolls now! After work I came home and Eric surprised me with my birthday/Mother's Day present...a beautiful opal ring!!! I was really surprised. I had told him a while back that if he ever bought me a ring I would love to have an opal. I had one when I was in high school, but lost the stone. Plus, I'm never really sure how much he is paying attention when I try to drop those subtle hints anyway! None-the-less, I absolutely love it, but had to take it back to get re-sized. Should get back at the end of the week. Saturday my parents came down and Mom made a chocolate cake from scratch! She's becoming a real Betty Crocker trying out new recipes. The cake was delicious and a nice surprise!
Mom and Dad babysat so Eric and I could go to dinner and a movie. We ate at Texas Roadhouse which has the best ribs I've ever had (besides yours Lars). We had about 45 minutes to kill after dinner before the movie started so where did we go....Walmart! How exciting!!! We picked up a few things for the kids and some candy for the movie. I can't tell you the last time the two of us were there by ourselves. It was actually kind of fun. Then we saw, "State of Play" with Russell Crow and Ben Affleck. It was really good.
We'd gone to Heartland Nursery to buy some plants for the yard so today after church Dad helped me plant them and get a little yard work done. It's always great to have some extra help! Thanks Dad!!!!
After lunch we had cake and played in the yard before Grandma and Grandpa had to go home.
Kaiden and Grandma had a fun time climbing up and down the stairs at least a dozen times.

Overall, I had a great birthday weekend. I guess next year I'll be the big 3-0 with two kids and a minivan. I'm sure it'll be okay, after all, I truly believe you're really only as old as you feel!
