Home For The Holidays

Eric, Madie, Barks, and I headed out on Saturday over the river and thru the snow...to grandma's house we go!!! And boy was there snow!!! We left Lee's Summit at 12:30, and didn't get to Grandma's house until around 3:00. There was white out conditions and we didn't go faster than 40mph. After a lot of prayers, and just a few cuss words :) we made it safe and sound.

Sunday, Eric went to his parents house to enjoy Larry's new surround sound, while Madie and I stayed home to bake cookies with Grandma. We had to fight to keep Grandpa out of the raw dough...and well, me too!!!

Monday we all got dressed up and went to 4:00 mass at St. Pat's. Eric's family heads up the choir, in fact, they pretty much are the choir! We love listening to Aunt Sis sing at mass. She sang at our wedding, and always does a beautiful job. After church we had dinner and then opened presents at the Bahrs. Madison was more interested in eating the paper than in the toys she was unwrapping.
Christie is such a goof!!!
Christmas day we opened presents with my family. Here's a picture of my Mom with the St. Francis statue Chip and I got for her. She was really surprised!!!
Barkley got a new toy, some dog treats, and this pimp fur coat from Aunt Jeanne! He'll be the envy of the neighborhood I'm sure!!!
Christmas day kept us busy shuttling back and forth between the Bahrs and my Grandma Rauth's house. It's a hectic time for us, but we want to try and see as many relatives as we can. We had a wonderful Christmas, and Madie and I are enjoying a day at home with our new toys. I think it will take me ALL day to break thru the industrial twistie ties on those toys! Eric had to work today to try and finish a project that's due after the first of the year. We hope all of you had a Merry Christmas and that 2008 brings many blessings for you.
