Thanksgiving 2007

We had a great Thanksgiving! We went to church this morning, and Fr. Jim gave a wonderful homily, and before mass ended he blessed some loaves of bread and offered for each of us to take one home for our families to share. He encouraged us to say something that we are thankful for as we pass the bread around. We came home and let Madie catch a little nap before heading over to Chipper's place. Mom and Dad were working away in the kitchen, and everything smelled delicious. We ate around 4:00, cleaned up, and then headed down to the Plaza to see the lights.
Madie enjoying some turkey. I could barely keep up with trying to keep her tray full before she would devour it!

Mom showing off her homemade bread.

The whole gang getting ready to eat.

Taking a post-dinner snooze with Grandpa.

After dinner we all bundled up to walk to the Plaza from Chip's apartment. To say it was cold would be an understatement. It was down-right freezing!!! Madie could barely move she had so many layers on. She was like Randy on The Christmas Story.

Dad bought us all some hot chocolate, and we were able to sneak into one of the stores that was open to keep warm before the lights turned on. When they finally did it was really pretty and they shot off some fireworks. I think Madison enjoyed those the most. She got a huge grin and kept saying "Wow" and "Wee"! We trekked back to Chipper's and had some apple pie before heading home.We have a lot to be thankful for, our faith, wonderful friends and family, a warm house to come home to, and the list goes on and on. I am most thankful for a loving husband who puts up with all of my crazy antics :), for a beautiful daughter who just lights up my world, and for the precious little angel that will be joining our family in March. I feel so truly blessed, and I'm not quite sure what I did to deserve all of this, but I thank God for all of it every day.
