My Little Pumpkin
Today we had our follow-up appointment with the orthopaedic clinic at Children's Mercy South. Eric is out of town right now, and my Mom is staying with me to babysit Madison during the day because our sitter is on vacation. ANYWAY, our appointment was at 2:00, but the clinic is a busy place, and we didn't get called in until 3:15. They weighed her...she feels like she weighs a TON with that cast, but I guess it's only a little over 19lbs. They also took 2 x-rays of her leg. Dr. Jarka came in to see her, and went over the x-rays. She said everything is looking good, and that this is the most common type of fracture seen when parents fall holding their child. She was very reassuring that Madie would heal just fine and shouldn't have any problems. The best part is that she should be able to get her cast off in a couple of weeks!!!! I was elated!!!!!! We go back two weeks from today, and she said they'd take another set of x-rays, and hopefully take the cast off. FREEDOM!!! On our way out we stopped by the gift shop (since Eric wouldn't let me look the last time we were there for some tests...) and Grandma just HAD to buy her this little pumpkin. The top unzips and inside is a cat, a candy corn, a ghost, and a spider. It was pretty cute. Here's a picture of my little Pumpkin with her new pumpkin.
