Thursday afternoon I got a call at work that Madison is really sick and has a fever of 104.5!!! I quickly left to pick her up and take her to the doctor. They checked her over, heart, lungs, and ears all looked fine. Tested her for strep, negative. Next they asked me if she's ever had a UTI. She did when she was 9 months old. Now they want to test for that...as the doctor turns to go get the nurse to do a straight cath I yell, "WAIT!!!! We're potty training her and maybe she'll go and we won't have to do the cath." So we tried...twice...no luck...here comes the cath, and the tears from both Madie and myself. The nurse tried once and thought Madie had some adhesions, so she sends for the doctor. Dr. Seuer came in and told her to try a little lower and they finally got it. Can I just say that there is nothing worse in the world than seeing those little blue eyes looking up at you for help and I'm trying so hard to be strong for her when all I really want to do is hold her and cry myself. That test also came back negative and we left an hour and several tears later with the verdict that it's probably a virus.
