A Cozy Weekend at Home

This weekend we pretty much stayed in the whole time, especially since the weather was bad. Friday night GG and Papa (Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Hayes) stayed over on their way back to Omaha from Branson. We hadn't seen them since Madison's birthday party, so it was fun to catch up, and for them to see how much Madie has changed. They brought her the cutest little monkey with a monkey blanket.
Playing with GG and PapaSaturday we woke up to a cold and miserable day, there was a light drizzle falling, coating everything with ice. Chip was supposed to come over to help us paint, but I had gotten out earlier that morning and the roads were pretty slick. I called him and told him he could stay home, but he headed over anyway. Thank goodness he didn't have any problems. He was a HUGE help to us, and we got two coats of paint on the basement walls!!! Thanks Chipper!!!
Saturday evening we got a call from Michelle that she had her baby girl! Gracie Marie was born at 4:56 PM, 12.08.07, and weighs 7lbs 3oz! We can't wait to get back to St. Joe to see her.
Sunday morning was more of the same weather-wise. We opted to stay home. Several churches were canceled, and frankly, I was nervous about getting out. It didn't take much to convince Eric we would stay home on the warm couch. We lounged around in our PJ's most of the morning, and I even crawled back into bed when Madie went down for a nap! We watched some football, got caught up on laundry and cleaning, and I started working on our Christmas cards. Eric was able to catch a nap in the afternoon with Madie and Barks. This evening we all snuggled up on the couch and watched The Polar Express. We had never seen it before, and I was amazed at how it captured Madison's attention. She sat through almost the whole movie, and only got up to dance around when the songs came on!

I am enjoying a day at home in my pjs due to the ice. It is nice to have some surprise time to just be around the house. Hope you and your Mom are having a good day.
I am looking forward to seeing the lower level family room soon!!
