Catholic Schools Week

This past week we celebrated Catholic Schools Week, although we were home bound for two of the days, they had a lot of fun activities planned for the kids. Monday was "dress silly" day and Madison picked out her outfit of striped leggings, a pink dress with tutu, a striped sweater, and a big pink flower in her hair! Tuesday they were supposed to go to John Knox to deliver Valentine's, but we got hit with the snowpocalypse and stayed home. Thursday was parent appreciation day...they had snacks in the morning when we dropped the kids off. Friday was school spirit day. All of the kids wore their yellow ECC t-shirts.

Thursday when I came home from work, Madison was over the moon excited to give me a gift. First she handed me a card that she had made that said, "Thank you for sending me to Catholic school" and she signed her name and decorated it with stickers. Next, out of a bag, she pulled this beautiful rosary that Ms. Katie helped her make. It moved me to tears. She was so proud, and so very sweet. Eric and I feel so very blessed to both have been able to attend Catholic schools and are thankful to be able to afford our children the same opportunity.

We've been celebrating Catholic Schools week too! The rosary is beautiful. thank you for believing in Catholic education. If you could see the spirituality among the high school kids here this week dealing with the unexpected death of their friend and classmate - you would see the beauty of Catholic schools tenfold. Some of the senior class led the rosary at the wake today and some others are leading it before the funeral mass tomorrow. It is a wonderful gift to be able to pray the rosary!!
