Christmast - Take 2 - Omaha

As I mentioned in my previous post, we spent Christmas weekend in Omaha with my Uncle Dave, cousin Noah, Grandma and Grandpa Hayes. It had been several years since we had all been together, and Grandma couldn't have been more elated! Christmas Eve I was able to meet some of my college friends for brunch. It was probably the best Christmas gift ever, as I hadn't seen them in a little over a year! Mary is expecting a baby girl at the end of this month. We had a yummy meal and spent our time laughing and reminiscing about our college days. Good times!
Joy, me, and Mary (yes, they look alike...they are triplets, we were just missing Rachel!) Making monkey faces - what a bunch of goofballs!
My Christmas angel. We went to church Christmas Eve, came home and had dinner before the kids tore into the presents. After presents we loaded everyone up in the van to drive around and look at the lights. It was a lot of fun. Uncle Chipper got a shark...that is, a shark vacuum to clean his floors with. Hope he uses it!!!
Kaiden got a new CAT truck. Grandpa Larry would be proud!
"I'm really getting the hang of this unwrapping!"
Madie squealing with delight over her new soccer set from Uncle Chipper
Playing with Noah. These two had the best time together. Noah is so good with the kids. He just adores them. He's such a great cousin.
Our holidays were a little saddened over the continued mourning of the loss of my cousin Dillon. We visited his grave site Christmas Eve, and placed a candle next to his headstone. I'm still trying to grasp the fact that he is gone. And I can't even begin to describe the pain in my heart when I look at my Uncle Dave and see the pain and agony in his eyes. No parent should ever have to endure what he is going thru. Needless to say, we tried to make the most of our holiday and I know that Grandma was really happy to have us there. When we left she said that we had helped to fill some of the hole in her heart from missing Dillon. He will forever be in our thoughts and prayers.
