AHA Wine & Food Festival

Saturday night, Eric and I had the pleasure of attending the Kansas City Festival of Wine and Food as a thank you from the American Heart Association for the fundraising that I did earlier this year. We weren't quite sure what to expect, and boy did we have an AWESOME time!!!! It was held at the Overland Park Convention Center, and when you walked in you got a wine glass and a little plate. They had booths set up, as well as a silent and live auction. We went around sampling wine and some of the finest cuisine from restaurants around the city.
We ran into Eric's friend, Tommy, from work, and he was able to take our picture.
We also ran into Dick Vermeil! He has his own winery and it was really good. He was so nice, like we were long lost friends. I think I may have even been more excited than Eric!!!
We also saw Bobby Bell (which unfortunately means nothing to me) but Eric later informed me that he was a famous linebacker for the Chiefs back in the day. He had a HUGE Superbowl ring on from Superbowl #4! This man is 70 yrs old, and he looks amazing! We also visited with his wife, she was very nice, and it turns out they live in Lee's Summit!
Eric with his future porsche - HAHAHA! Don't think you'll get 3 car seats in that!
My adorable patent leather pink heels! Very cute, but not so practical at a wine event....
Posing with our wine glasses! It was such a great night, and BIG thanks to Uncle Chipper for keeping an eye on the kiddos for us.
