So Much To Be Thankful For

WARNING: This post is full of sap and emotions...read at your own risk!!!

This past week with my kids being in St. Joe with the grandparents and the house being unusually quiet, it has given me some time to sit peacefully with my thoughts and take some time to reflect on just how truly blessed I am, and how much I have to be thankful for. Also this week we picked up our adopt-a-family for work. This year Centerpoint is doing it's own adopt-a-family, employees in need could apply to be adopted, and I was shockingly surprised by not only how many people need help, but just the simple things they were requesting like toilet paper, blankets, or towels. It truly made me stop and think about all of the little things I take for granted like having the money to buy Kleenex or put enough food on the table and keep a warm house over our heads.

This quiet house has also reminded me of how truly blessed I am to have two of the most amazing kids. I really can't remember what life was like without them, but not having them here this week has reminded me of just how full life is now with them. Although it has been nice to have some quiet time with just Eric and I, I cannot wait to wrap my arms around those little angels tomorrow and smother them with kisses.

Speaking of Eric, I'm not really sure how I ended up with such an amazing husband, but I certainly don't know what I would do without him. He helps around the house, he cooks, he cleans, he helps out with the kids, and does whatever he can to make things easier for me. We've been together for over 12 years now and looking back to when we first started dating I could never imagine how much my heart would grow to love him. He picks me up when I am down, puts up with my moods, and just makes life so much more enjoyable when he is around. I look at him and thank God for putting him in my life, and for blessing us with such an amazing family. A family that will soon be adding a new member, and I cannot tell you how much joy it brings me to watch Eric's face light up first when I told him that we were expecting another baby, and then when she will arrive and he looks at me with tears of joy and I know that he's the happiest man on earth.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and remember to not just enjoy all the yummy food tomorrow, but to also take a moment to thank God for the many blessings He has given you.
