Habitat for Humanity

Tonight Eric and I attended the Habitat for Humanity Gala to raise money and honor a lot of the volunteers who help with this wonderful cause. We were invited to go with some people from our church. They had a silent auction, dinner, live auction, and awards ceremony. They also had a woman come up who had just moved into a Habitat house in June. Her story was very moving. She was addicted to drugs/alcohol, she and her two kids were homeless at one time, since then she has been drug free for over 3 years now, and is engaged to be married! We had a really fun time and almost won a $3,000 diamond necklace...... The tables for the silent auction were beautifully decorated. Here is just one of the many.....
Eric donated $20 to get a key and a chance to open this door and win me a $3000 diamond necklace! They started with 75 keys and narrowed it down to 6 people who got to try and open the door and Eric just happened to be one of them! I was really nervous, but no necklace this time. However, we did bring home......
....some gourmet dog treats for Barkley from the Brookside Barkery!
These were one of the items I bid on and ended up winning!
I gave him one of his treats when we got home and he was so excited!!!
