Fr. Phil's 50th Anniversary
Sunday we headed up to Auburn, NE for my great uncle, Fr. Phil's 50th anniversary of being a priest. 50 years ago, my mom was his flower girl, I was the flower girl for the 25th, so he really wanted Madison to do it for his 50th. I didn't really think she would walk down the aisle by herself, so Mom and I ended up walking with her, rather, I carried her, but it was fine. She did a good job and was so exhausted from her big day she fell asleep during mass! The church was very quaint, with these beautiful stained glass windows.
After mass there was a reception for friends and family, and then the entire family (80+ of us) went to a family owned restaurant for dinner. Even though it was a long day for all of us, I know how much it meant to Fr. Phil for us to be there, and it was also nice to get to visit with some of our family members that we don't get to see too often.
