I was really nervous as to how she would do at the dentist, as sometimes she doesn't even like me to brush her teeth. My worst fears were confirmed as the woman came out to call Madie to the back she turned to me and said, "Ready? Go bye-bye!" I kept trying to reassure her that it would be okay. The hygienist was very nice and patient. We tried to distract her with Little Einsteins, a fancy new toothbrush, and toys. She would have nothing of the sort. We decided to call it a day and made a new appointment 6 months from now. In the meantime, we will be reading lots of books about going to the dentist!
Since our appointment didn't last very long, we had time to do a little shopping! Our first stop was Kohls, and I smiled as Madie spelled out the letters on the building as we walked up! We got 2 new outfits for both her and Kaiden for spring/summer. Next, we headed to Target to find some Easter plates, and then it was over to Burns and Mac to meet Daddy for lunch.
Madison really thought she was a big girl going to Daddy's work. We had a nice lunch and then went over to see his desk. I tease him that his office is one big maze and that he leaves a piece of cheese out to find his way to his cubicle. So Madie kept saying, "find the cheese, find the cheese!" After lunch we headed home for a much needed nap.
The rest of the day was filled with a short trip to the salon to get our bangs cut. A stop by the library, to look for those dentist books...no such luck, but we did get about a dozen others. Then we headed to the park before picking Kaiden up from daycare.
When we got home we played outside with our bubble dog before heading in for some dinner.
I hope she had as much fun today as I did, and this is something we will definitely be doing more of in the future! I certainly didn't miss all of the housework and laundry that I normally try to do on my day off!!!
