Madison and I have her bedtime routine down pat. We put jammies on, read books, brush our teeth and go potty one last time. Then we climb into my bed for a few minutes of "chompers". A game I invented where we make shadow puppets that look like alligators that eat things in the room, like the fan, the curtains, the pictures etc...it's really fun. Then she counts how many shadow fingers she has on the wall (sometimes she comes up with 6!). We say goodnight to chompers and then go lay down on the floor in her room for a few minutes, say our prayers and she climbs into bed.
I've been practicing saying prayers with her for quite some time now. I would say the prayer and then say "amen" and she would join in "amen". For the past two nights now, as soon as we lay down she says, "say prayers". So we say our prayers and our amens and she goes to bed. It is the sweetest, most angelic thing to hear a tiny little girl ask to say some prayers. We are truly blessed.
