I was pleasantly surprised at how many things they had for little kids to play with. Madie wasn't quite big enough to do everything, but she had a fun time just running around. They had several little slides, and a couple BIG slides. I went down this little yellow one with her first, and then she felt comfortable to take it on her own. She must have slid down about a dozen times saying "Weeee!" and giggling at the bottom. I tried to take her down this big tube slide, but it was a little too scary for the both of us.
They also had a petting zoo with some sheep, cows, horses, roosters, and rabbits. Madison was fascinated with the animals. We didn't get any food to feed them because I was afraid they'd eat her whole hand! She was content just to go up and look...as was I. This is a picture of her with some of the rabbits.
The patch had a lot of cute wooden cutouts scattered around. They had some with holes cut out for your face to peek thru, but she wasn't too interested in doing that. Plus, she was a little too short for most of them.
After checking out the animals and all of the other fun things around the farm, we hopped on a wagon for a hay ride. It was a little more bumpy than I was anticipating, and I had a heck of time holding onto Madie, my purse, and my belly!!! (Plus a pumpkin on the way back!)
I really enjoyed watching Madison explore all of these new sites, sounds, and smells. She loved tromping thru the pumpkin patch and picking out the perfect one. (and it wasn't too big for Mom to carry back!) She found a cute little perfectly round pumpkin with an interesting stem. I think if Eric could have gone with us we would've gotten a BIG one!
By the end of the hay ride we were both tired and ready to head home. Madie fell asleep in the car and I was able to catch a little nap when we got home.
We had a great day together, and I can't wait to do it again next year!!!
